about

TC bought a van and the song began. Jeff Brown and TC Tye wrote and recorded this island influenced number on Duck Key in the Florida Keys in the fall of 2011. Orignially written on ukelele over looking the Atlantic ocean while driving down the Overseas Highway to Big Pine Key to pick up the Chevy van formerly owned by the Doerfels, a family bluegrass band. It's the title track that inspired the name of the album. Hope you enjoy listening to it as much as enjoyed recording it.

10-29-11 the day I got the van

I know where I’m going, and I, Just bought me a Chevy van
The van, she’s an oldie Goldie, and I’ll, take her as far as I can

I’m gonna bike, drive, fly, sail or take a train
I’m driving towards the good life, leaving behind the mundane
I got my keys, island breeze, coconut trees, here I go

Use the Southern Cross, to navigate, my way
Following the stars, down that, overseas highway

Feeling the freedom, laid back, in the breeze
Go where I want to go, do what I please
Mile after mile, I might even change my style
Don’t be surprised when I pass by, you might get a, wave and, a smile

The only situation, I can, see my self in, is the
Manifestation, of my, happiness within
Shift into overdrive, rolling night and day
I’ll reach my destination, by the, over seas highway
Break it down- Gm Bb C - F Bb Gm 8 times

Oh, now I feel alive, stand beside the sea
Soaking in the sun smelling the ocean breeze
The feeling in my heart, satisfies my soul
The wind is in my sails, that is how I roll

I’m gonna bike, drive, fly, sail or take a train
I’m driving towards the good life, leaving behind the mundane
I got my keys, island breeze, coconut trees, here I go
Take a guess, there’s no GPS, on this quest to tomorrow-

I’m gonna bike, drive, fly, sail or take a train
I’m driving towards the good life, leaving behind the mundane
I got my keys, island breeze, coconut trees, here I go
Take a guess, there’s no GPS, on this quest to tomorrow
